The photo series documenting the devastating fire in the Borjomi Gorge in August 2017 that destroyed nearly 150 hectars of forest, encapsulates a captivating metamorphosis, transitioning from raw documentary shots to masterfully captured images of the fire's beauty and ferocity, as well as the aftermath of its devastation portrayed in an almost surreal cold dawn.
Within these images, the ashen trees undergo a profound transformation, evolving from mere victims into living witnesses—apostles of the fire's elemental force.
Through the lens of the photographer, the fire emerges not just as a destructive force but also as a mesmerizing display of nature's power and resilience. The juxtaposition of charred landscapes against the ethereal light of dawn evokes a sense of surrealism, inviting viewers to contemplate the duality of destruction and rebirth inherent in such natural phenomena.
